A ship owner from Szczecin Unibaltic has gained a new vessel. In December the Polish flag was hoisted on a tanker Ametysth. The ship built in 1991 was used under the name of Marianne Theresa in the fleet of a Danish ship owner - Herning Shipping. After a small correction New Ametysth adopted the name of a smaller and older tanker Amethyst, sold in the summer of 2007, which was one of the first ships of the owner from Szczecin, taken over from the stock of the bankrupt holding of the old Szczecin shipyard. It is worth emphasising that the newly bought ship was registered under the Polish flag with Szczecin as a mother port. This may mean that after a several-year period of using the fleet under the flag of Norway (NIS), Unibaltic is coming back to the national flag. 2008-01-10 http://www.unibaltic.pl/_en/news.php
